State Rep. Vella Invites Young Readers to Choose a FREE Book From His Office to Celebrate National Young Readers Week

ROCKFORD, IL. – State Rep. Dave Vella has made community outreach and primary school engagement a priority in the Illinois 68th District since elected in 2021. To celebrate National Young Readers Week, Rep. Vella invites parents and students of the community to a special event to promote and foster imagination and a love of literacy. This will be a wonderful opportunity for students and families to stop in and select a book from his diverse library collection.

This event will take place from 4:00PM-6:00PM on Friday, November 15th. During this time, students and parents are encouraged to come into Representative Vella’s office at 4007 N. Mulford Rd. and pick out a free book from his office library. This is not only a chance for students to discover new stories, but for families to learn about the opportunities and resources available in their community. Bring friends and family along for an afternoon filled with adventure, imagination, and learning! “I am looking forward to engaging with the children and families in our community. Childhood literacy is vital, and this event will strengthen imagination and an early love of reading,” says Vella.
