State Representative Dave Vella Appointed as Chair of House International Relations, Tourism, and Trade Committee 

ROCKFORD, IL –  State Representative Dave Vella (D-Rockford/Belvidere) has been appointed by Illinois House Speaker Emanuel Chris Welch as Chair of the House International Relations, Tourism, and Trade Committee for the 104th Legislative General Assembly.  “I am looking forward to being the House International Relations, Tourism, and Trade Committee Chairman. I hope to bring new investments and visitors to the State of Illinois and to help bring new opportunities to our strong working families,” said Vella.

Under the direction of Rep. Vella, the committee will be in charge of advancing domestic and foreign tourism to the State, creating links between the State of Illinois and the rest of the world, and presenting new opportunities for international trade and economic growth. In addition to chairing the International Relations, Tourism, and Trade Committee, Representative Vella will serve on the House Gaming,  Judiciary-Criminal, Judiciary-Civil, Personnel & Pensions, and Public Utilities committees. 

“These committees cover issues that every Illinoisan deals with daily,” said Vella. “I look forward to working with my fellow committee members to produce  reasonable legislation that will bring new innovations to our State systems and ensure our working men and women are always a priority in Illinois.”
